Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I leave a post and link for something I found that I didn’t buy?
A: Yes.  Remember that posts are for ‘Found’ and ‘Wanted’ items.  As a courtesy you may want to mention that you don’t have any personal knowledge about the item.

Q:  I have an item to post but it doesn’t fit any of your categories.  What should I do?
A:  Items that don’t fit Snoopums current categories can be placed under the category ‘Other’.  The postings from the category ‘Other’ may be used as reference for new categories in the future.

Q:  Can I post a link to an item that is similar to the item I’m looking for but not exactly like it?
A:  Yes.  A reference is good for showing others what you are looking for but be sure to explain what differences you would like to find.  For example:  “I’m looking for a cell phone similar to the one in this link but I would like it to have speed dial and be red.”

Q:  How do I change my password?
A:  Password and many other profile changes can be done by signing in and going into the ‘My Account’ section of Snoopums.

Q:  Can I post a link to a website instead of a specific item?
A:  Yes.  Whole websites are great sources of great deals and/or hard to find items.

Q:  What do the thumbs up and thumbs down symbols mean?
A:  The thumbs up and thumbs down functions allow users to rate a post or comment as good or useful or not.  Users are only permitted one rating per post or comment.

Q:  Someone left a comment on my post that I find objectionable.  What can I do?
A:  Click on the Flag in that comments box to report it to an Administrator.
